Your outdoor spaces, lit like a film set.

I design and install the lighting for your gardens, façades and terraces.
Bespoke lighting that switches on and adapts by itself, season after season.

Hello, I’m William. For years, I created special effects for the cinema, where light is everything.
Today, as an electrician and lighting scenographer, I bring that expertise to your home.

Scenography and automation

What is it?

Scenography treats your outdoor space as one composition: each light answers the others to create a harmonious whole. It brings out what matters: a tree rather than a wall, a texture rather than a surface.

Automation does the rest: soft light at sunset, a livelier mood when you entertain, a discreet glow through the night. All tailored to your wishes and needs, without ever touching a switch.

Here are a few examples:

Access and pathways

You drive through the gate: the lights along the drive come on one by one, from the gate to the house, like a runway guiding you to the front door. The way ahead unfolds before you, then the light softens once you’ve arrived.

Beyond the effect, it’s a real gain in safety: drive, steps, edges and bends are all marked out, day and night, for you and your guests alike. No more fumbling for a switch in the dark.

In the same spirit:

  • Welcoming guests: as the gate opens, the drive and the façade light up to greet them.
  • The footpath: a sensor lights the way at your pace, then switches it off behind you.
  • Coming home late: after midnight, only the essential markers come on, softly, so as not to wake the house.
  • Remote watch: while you’re away, the drive lights up at the slightest movement and deters unwanted visitors.

Architecture

As night falls, the house awakens. Light first reaches the façade, revealing its volumes and materials, then spreads to the planting around it. The house takes shape in the night, like a stage set before the first act.

It all relies on indirect lighting: light grazes the surfaces without catching your eye or shining in through the windows. No glare outside, calm rooms inside, and architecture at one with the garden.

Ideal for:

  • Houses with character: stone, timber or contemporary architecture, revealed every evening.
  • Your guests’ arrival: a house that welcomes them from the very first glimpse.
  • Winter evenings: night falls early, yet the house looks beautiful from 5 pm.
  • Second homes: when you arrive, everything is already set. All that’s left is to enjoy it.

Whole-garden scenography

The whole garden takes the stage. Façade, terrace, flower beds, pathway and trees each light up at their own level, from the foreground to the far end of the garden. The scene is composed like a film shot, with its planes and its perspective.

It’s the hierarchy between these levels that creates depth, far more than the amount of light. An over-lit garden looks flat; a well-composed garden invites the eye to wander, and feels larger.

Ideal for:

  • Summer dinners: the terrace in soft light, the garden as a backdrop.
  • Parties and receptions: guests guided from one space to the next, with no dark corners.
  • The view from the living room: even in winter, the garden remains a picture beyond the glass doors.
  • Large grounds: every area comes to life, from the foreground to the far end.

Planting

The path lights up first, step by step, deep in the greenery. Then the trees rise into the light, and finally the shrubs complete the scene. The garden reveals itself layer by layer, like a camera moving slowly down the path.

The path guides your steps, the trees give height, the shrubs add texture. The light sources stay hidden in the foliage: you see the light, never the fitting. The garden becomes a stroll.

Other settings to reveal:

  • The dune garden: maritime pines and marram grass, typical of the Arcachon Bay, sculpted by light.
  • The Mediterranean garden: olive trees, lavender and dry-stone walls in warm light.
  • The Japanese garden: maples, gravel and stepping stones, in sparse, precise light.
  • The water’s edge: a pond or lake reflecting the illuminated planting.

My projects

My approach

A scenographer’s eye, an electrician’s rigour. Here’s how I work, and what I commit to.

Listening on site

It all starts at your home. I get to know your habits: where you dine in summer, which way you come home at night. I pick out what deserves light, for a project born of your place, never of a catalogue.

A plan agreed together

A layout plan approved before any equipment is bought. Nothing is installed until you’ve seen where every light point goes, and why.

Meticulous installation

Narrow trenches, turf cut and relaid, cables buried. I bring the utmost rigour to fitting the equipment and to the wiring alike. A few days later, nothing gives away that I was ever there, except the light.

Décennale insurance

10years

Your installation stays covered for ten years after handover. The certificate comes with every quote, and the insurer’s name appears on every invoice.

  • 1 year: completion guarantee
  • 2 years: guarantee on the proper working of equipment
  • 10 years: ten-year structural guarantee (décennale)
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Manufacturer’s warranty on equipment

The right light

Fewer light points, better placed. Warm, controlled light, and no glare from living areas.

Respect for the night

No light aimed at the sky, out of respect for the night sky and wildlife. Repairable professional equipment, chosen to last rather than to be replaced.

My commitments

A detailed, transparent quote, a schedule announced and kept, free adjustments after handover, and a complete file at the end of the job: installation plan, diagrams and equipment references.

Satisfied clients

Your project, step by step

  1. We meet

I come to your home to discover your outdoor space, your habits and your wishes.

  2. I propose a project

A clear plan: where each light goes, and which moods and scenography we can create. You approve everything before installation begins.

  3. I install, discreetly

A clean, careful worksite that respects your garden. A few days later, there’s no sign I was ever there.

  4. We fine-tune everything at night

After nightfall, I adjust every light and finalise the scenography, until the result is perfect.

  5. You enjoy it

I show you how everything works, hand over all the compliance documents, and remain on hand whenever you need me.
